Just a week removed from clinching the AFC East for the first time since 1995, Buffalo travels to Gillette Stadium on "Monday Night Football" to face a a Patriots team eliminated from playoff contention.
It's a major role reversal, as the Bills (11-3) have their sights set on a potential two-seed in the AFC playoffs while New England angles for better draft position and figures out what young talent may return for 2021. The Bills can clinch the two-seed this weekend if they beat New England and Pittsburgh loses to Indianapolis. Buffalo submitted plans earlier this week to New York governor Andrew Cuomo outlining plans for hosting up to 6,700 members of Bills mafia should the Bills end up with a home game in the playoffs.

Following New England's 22-12 loss to Miami in Week 15, the Patriots (6-8) will miss the playoffs for the first time since 2008 and will fail to finish above .500 for the first time since 2000. While Cam Newton's 209 passing yards against the Dolphins were the most he's had since Week 11, it's been a difficult year for the quarterback in need of a resurgent season in order to lock down a lucrative contract. Bill Belichick did not reveal his quarterback plans for facing the Bills, but Jarrett Stidham may see increased playing time in order for New England to clarify its offseason direction at the position.
Both teams have already appeared on "Monday Night Football" this season, with each winning. Week 16 marks the final "MNF" game of the season.
