(WSIL) -- Although Christmas is behind us, there's still time to help the Southern Illinois AIDS Coalition with their holiday program.
Eight households from seven southern Illinois counties are still in need of sponsors. All of those families have experience with HIV or AIDS.
The coalition is seeking donations to help them with food, electricity, gas and presents for the kids.
"Giving to those individuals and those family members, it gives them a sense of knowing that they have a community that is genuinely caring for them, that does love them, that does support them and will uplift them when times are needed," said LeGina Crim, VP of Finance, for Southern Illinois AIDS Coalition.
To sponsor a household, you can message the Southern Illinois AIDS Coalition Facebook page.
Gift cards will be distributed on Wednesday.
