MONDAY: Louisiana reported 1,111 new COVID cases Monday on a little more than 12,000 tests - a relatively low number compared to previous days.  Monday, there were 65 additional deaths in Louisiana for a total of 7,107 since March.  There were1,590 COVID patients in the hospital Monday, an increase from the weekend.  Of those in the hospital, 174 patients needed a ventilator, also an increase from the weekend.   The positivity rate was about 9.2% Monday. 

WEEKEND:  The state is reporting 3,738 new cases of coronavirus over the weekend, bringing the total to 286,145 statewide. 48 new deaths were also reported bringing that total to 7,042. 

Hospitalizations now stand at 1,534, with 169 patients are on ventilators.

FRIDAY: The state reported 3,103 new COVID cases Friday.  Hospitalizations dropped to 1,547; 179 patients needed a ventilator, which was an increase from Thursday.  Deaths increased by 30 to 6,994.   The positive rate of cases compared to tests was about 9.5% Friday.

Ascension: 7,140 cases / 113 deaths

Assumption: 1,204 cases / 26 deaths

East Baton Rouge: 23,698 cases / 556 deaths

East Feliciana: 2,375 cases / 90 deaths

Iberville: 2,468 cases / 68 deaths 

Livingston: 7,921 cases / 113 deaths

Pointe Coupee: 1,770 cases / 53 deaths 

St. Helena: 646 cases / 4 deaths

St. James: 1,204 cases / 42 deaths

Tangipahoa: 8,320 cases / 156 deaths

West Baton Rouge: 1,660 cases / 47 deaths

West Feliciana: 881 cases / 25 deaths

The state has launched a hotline to answer the public's questions about the virus. Anyone looking to use the service can dial 2-1-1 to be connected to the network. Written answers can be answered online at www.la211help.org.
