Video: Low humidity ahead of July 4 holiday
BIG AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE GIVING SPECTACULAR WEATHER HERE TO THE NORTHEAST. SUNSHINE AND COMFORTABLE HUMIDITY. IT IS THE PICK OF THE WEEK. LOOK AT THESE DEW POINTS DOWN IN THE LOW 50S ALL THE WAY DOWN TOWARD NEW YORK DEW POINTS IN THE 50S DOWN INTO THE CAROLINAS AND JULY. WE’LL TAKE THAT. IT’S GOING TO BE A BEAUTIFUL DAY. HOPEFULLY YOU CAN ENJOY IT SUNSHINE ALL DAY LONG. DO NOTICE THE WINDS AS WE GET TOWARD MIDDAY INTO THE AFTERNOON. THEY’RE COMING IN OFF THE OCEAN. SO IN BOSTON NOTICE WE STRUGGLE TO REACH THAT 80 DEGREE MARK. THAT’S WHERE WE’LL HOLD UPPER 70S TO NEAR 80 HERE ALONG THE COAST, ALL THE WAY UP TOWARD THE NORTH SHORE. SOUTH SHORE, OUT TO THE CAPE, PRIMARILY IN THE MID 70S. THERE INLAND AREAS, THOUGH WE’LL KEEP CLIMBING INTO THE LOW EVEN SOME MID 80S, ESPECIALLY UP THROUGH THE MERRIMACK VALLEY. SO IT IS WARM TODAY, BUT WITHOUT THE HUMIDITY IT’S GOING TO FEEL BEAUTIFUL TO BE OUTSIDE, MAINLY CLEAR AND COMFORTABLE TONIGHT. PROBABLY ONE MORE NIGHT WHERE YOU CAN GET AWAY WITHOUT USING THE AC AND JUST OPENING UP THE WINDOWS. A LOT OF 50S IN THE SUBURBS. WE’LL MANAGE THE LOW 60S IN BOSTON TONIGHT FOR OVERNIGHT LOWS, AND TOMORROW SIMILAR TO TODAY, MOSTLY SUNNY, A LITTLE BIT WARMER. WIND IS TURNING TO THE SOUTH. 74 YOUNG ON CAPE COD INLAND AREAS ABOUT 80 TO 85 DEGREES. AND AS WE GO INTO TOMORROW NIGHT, LOOK WHAT STARTS HAPPENING THAT SOUTHERLY WIND IS BRINGING UP THE HUMIDITY. SO BY THE 4TH OF JULY YOU’RE GOING TO NOTICE SOME STICKINESS TO THE AIR. AND THOSE DEW POINTS ARE GOING TO BE RUNNING THE 60S TO NEAR 70 DEGREES, RIGHT ON INTO THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND. THE HIGH MOVES EAST, FLOW AROUND IT ON THE BACKSIDE, BRINGS US THAT SOUTHERLY WIND. AND THERE IS A FRONT NEARBY ON THE 4TH OF JULY. SO DURING THE MORNING HOURS CAN’T RULE OUT A SPOT SHOWER HERE AND THERE. AND THEN THE SKIES GO PARTLY SUNNY. THE AFTERNOON SHOULD BE DRY. WE HEAD TOWARD THE EVENING HOURS, FIREWORKS ON THE 4TH OF JULY CAN’T RULE OUT A COUPLE OF SHOWERS POPPING UP, BUT YOU CAN SEE MOST AREAS ARE DRY. IT’S A LOW RISK FOR SHOWERS FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY, SO THERE WILL BE THAT RISK THROUGH YOUR HOLIDAY WEEKEND PLANS. BUT THE RISK IS PRETTY LOW AND NO DAY IS LOOKING LIKE A WASHOUT. WE’RE MONITORING IN THE TROPICS HURRICANE BERYL THIS IS A CATEGORY FIVE HURRICANE WITH 165 MILE PER HOUR WINDS. YOU CAN SEE IT IS NOW MOVING WEST AT 22MPH. AND THIS IS THE EARLIEST FORMING CATEGORY FIVE HURRICANE ON RECORD. SO IT’S REALLY EARLY TO HAVE THIS STRONG OF A STORM IN THE ATLANTIC. AND AS IT CONTINUES TO MOVE IN THROUGH THE CARIBBEAN HERE, LOOKS LIKE IT’S GOING TO TRACK JUST SOUTH OF THE DOMINICAN BUT GET VERY CLOSE TO JAMAICA ON WEDNESDAY. STILL A MAJOR HURRICANE, AND THEN MOVE TOWARD THE CAYMAN ISLANDS AS WE GET TOWARD THURSDAY. BEYOND THAT, IT SHOULD BE WEAKENING SOME, BUT COULD HAVE SOME IMPACTS ON THE YUCATAN PENINSULA. AND THEN BY THE WEEKEND, SOMEWHERE HERE IN THE WESTERN GULF OF MEXICO MAY BE CURVING UP TOWARD TEXAS OR STAYING OVER MEXICO. WE’RE GOING TO HAVE TO BE WATCHING THAT ONE INTO THE WEEKEND. ALSO, KEEPING OUR EYES ON A WAVE BEHIND BERYL THIS IS A WAVE THAT COULD BE DEVELOPING AND TAKING ON MORE TROPICAL CHARACTERISTICS IN THE DAYS AHEAD. SO WE’RE ONLY A MONTH INTO THE HURRICANE SEASON. WE’VE ALREADY HAD THREE NAMED STORMS. PEAK USUALLY DOESN’T COME UNTIL SEPTEMBER, BUT IT IS VERY ACTIVE IN THE TROPICS RIGHT NOW. FORTUNATELY, OUR WEATHER IS MUCH QUIETER. WE HAVE THAT SPOT SHOWER RISK HERE AS WE HEAD TOWARD THE 4TH OF JULY. ON THURSDAY. HERE’S A CLOSER LOOK AT FRIDAY AGAIN. STILL A FRONT NEARBY AS THIS FRONT IS CROSSING OUR AREA ON SATURDAY. THAT IS PROBABLY OUR BEST CHANCE FOR SEEING SOME SHOWERS AND STORMS, AND THEN IT WILL SLOWLY SAG SOUTHWARD AND WE’LL DRY OUT SOME AS WE HEAD TOWARDS SUNDAY AND EARLY NEXT WEEK. BUT LOOK AT THOSE TEMPERATURES. IT’S GOING TO BE HOT STAYING IN TH

Sunny and dry through midweek. Humidity ramps up on the 4th of July and stays high into the holiday weekend. A front nearby will help to trigger a few showers and thunderstorms, but no day looks like a washout.
