(WSIL) -- Are two masks better than one? That's what Dr. Anthony Fauci suggests for extra protection.
Health experts have said for months "mask up," but with more Covid-19 variants spreading, Dr. Fauci says double-masking would be more effective.
The Southern Seven Health Department says wearing two masks could block more particles from contacting your face.
"You want to do everything you can to keep yourself safe so if you want to wear an additional mask it doesn't harm any--it doesn't affect your breathing or anything of that nature. What it does is just provide you an extra barrier," said Community Outreach Coordinator, Shawnna Rhine.
The CDC has not recommended double masking yet, but says use masks that have two or more layers of washable, breathable fabric.
