Dorena-Hickman Ferry closed due to low water - WSIL TV

(WSIL) -- The Dorena-Hickman Ferry is closed until further notice due to low water on the Mississippi River.

The ferry connects KY 1354 at Hickman, Kentucky with Route A and Route 77 near Dorena, Missouri.

Captain Jeremy Newsom says the ferry will have to remain closed until the river rises to about 14 feet on the Cairo gauge.

The low water keeps the ferry landing ramp from reaching the ramp at the Kentucky Landing.
