Bucks County Health Department officials reported Monday night that hospitalizations of COVID-19 patients remained low.
As of Monday night, there were 25 Bucks Countians in local hospitals with the virus and three were on ventilators in critical condition.
Between Friday and Monday night, the county reported receiving 144 COVID-19 positive results. A total of 27 were too delayed to be considered active infections.
There were 47 cases reported Friday, 28 on Saturday, and a combined total of 69 cases from Sunday and Monday.
Of the 144 cases reported from Friday through Monday, 50 caught the infection through household members, 22 from out-of-state travel, 22 through community spread, eight at work, three through jobs at long-term care facilities, two were health care workers, and 37 were unable to complete full interviews with contact tracers immediately.
The first COVID-19 patient death of August was reported. A 71-year-old woman with underlying health issues died on Sunday, health officials said.
The county said the daily average of new COVID-19 cases increased from 37 the week prior to 41 cases reported per day last week.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 6,624 Bucks Countians who have tested positive for COVID-19, 514 deaths, and 5,444 recoveries.
