LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas is experiencing delays and cancellations Monday due to weather and visibility issues.
The Federal Aviation Administration cited weather and low ceilings, or low hanging fairly continuous clouds, as the reason for the delays and cancellations. Elsewhere in the United States, other cities, such as Chicago, St. Louis, and Seattle are also seeing delays and cancellations.
Nationwide, by mid-day on Monday, there were more than 3,000 delays and 800 cancellations.
According to FlightAware, as of 11:15 a.m. Thursday, more than 70 arriving and departing flights were canceled at Reid International, and more than 500 were delayed.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, some flights arriving at the Harry Reid International Airport may see delays of an average of 2 hours and 9 minutes.
Because of a delay in arriving flights, some departing flight schedules may be affected. The average delay for departures is slightly more than 2 hours, the FAA said.
