LAFAYETTE, La. -- With a season-low tally from senior Charlie Pilon, the University of Michigan men's golf team tallied a season-low 893 team total and finished 12th at the Louisiana Classics played Monday and Tuesday (March 15-16) at Oakbourne Country Club.

The Wolverines headed south for the third straight spring event and opened the Louisiana Classics with back-to-back season-low 295s in the first 36 holes. In Monday's opening 18, junior Patrick Sullivan fired his first of two even-par 72s, while freshman Will Anderson carded a 73 (+1). As the day continued on to the second 18, Pilon used three birdies and an eagle to post his season-low 71 (-1), while graduate student Brent Ito had a 72 to pace the Maize and Blue.

In today's final round, Sullivan led the Wolverine charge with his second 72, while Pilon closed with a 74 as the Wolverines tallied a 303.

With a 220 (75-71-74) total, Pilon posted his best finish of the season, tying for 31st. He highlighted his 54 holes with two eagles and eight under par on the nine par-5s. Bookending rounds of 72 around a 77, Sullivan was a shot back of Pilon as he tied for 33rd at 221 (72-77-72).

Anderson started strong with an opening 73 before rounds of 75 and 78 gave him a 226 total and tie for 58th along with teammate Ito (75-72-79/226).

The Maize and Blue are off until the beginning of April, when the Wolverines will play their last two events in Big Ten country, at Indiana and Ohio State. First, U-M will head to the Hoosier State to play in the Indiana Collegiate at the recently renovated Pfau Course at Indiana University. The two-day, 54-hole event will be play Saturday and Sunday, April 3-4, in Bloomington, Ind.
