GO REALTORS: Low inventory remained a challenge in February - The Owensboro Times

Despite inventory remaining low due to high demand, the Greater Owensboro REALTOR Association reports that the number of homes sold holds steady and the value of houses on the market continues to rise.

The average sold price for February was $188,529 — an increase of 12% from February 2020. Sales volume totaled $21.5 million, up from $20.9 million last year. 

“With the current low housing inventory in our market, we continue to see growth in the value of homes sold,” said GO REALTORS President-Elect Michelle Wiesman. “The average sales price continues to increase, and we believe this will hold true for the near future.”

In February, 114 homes were sold, with 135 sales pending. Days on market remains fast-paced at 69 days — though the current inventory of homes remains low with fewer than 140 active listings. 

“Inventory levels in our market continue to remain lower than average and multiple-offer situations have become more common,” said Jason Bellamy, President of GO REALTORS. “In this environment, the experience of a REALTOR is beneficial, whether you are a buyer working to write up a winning offer or a seller who needs to decide which offer has the best terms and is most likely to succeed.”
