MADEIRA BEACH, FL – In its lone game of the day, the Purple Eagles fell to BIG TEN foe Purdue by the final score of 3-1 Saturday night at The Spring Games in Maderia Beach, Fla.
 
Game Recap
• Niagara scored the first run of the contest in the bottom half of the second inning when Maggie Kellner doubled to drive in Kaity McInall.
Riley Crum, who got the start in the circle for Niagara started the game with four scoreless innings as it wasn't until the fifth that Purdue pushed a run across.
• The Boilermakers would score three in the inning to take the lead.
• Purdue would shut down Niagara in the final three innings of play as the Purple Eagles were held to just two hits in the final three frames.
 
Niagara Notes
• Crum finished with 5.0 innings of work, punching out five and allowing five hits. The junior is now 1-1 on the young season.
• Niagara finished with five hits from five different Purple Eagles.
• Kellner's double in the second was the lone extra base hit of the game for NU. The sophomore is now third on the team with six hits this season.
Kelsey Harrigan and McInall have started the season with five game hit streaks.
