MADEIRA BEACH, FL – In its lone game of the day, the Purple Eagles fell to BIG TEN foe Purdue by the final score of 3-1 Saturday night at The Spring Games in Maderia Beach, Fla.
Game Recap
• Niagara scored the first run of the contest in the bottom half of the second inning when Maggie Kellner doubled to drive in Kaity McInall.
• Riley Crum, who got the start in the circle for Niagara started the game with four scoreless innings as it wasn't until the fifth that Purdue pushed a run across.
• The Boilermakers would score three in the inning to take the lead.
• Purdue would shut down Niagara in the final three innings of play as the Purple Eagles were held to just two hits in the final three frames.
Niagara Notes
• Crum finished with 5.0 innings of work, punching out five and allowing five hits. The junior is now 1-1 on the young season.
• Niagara finished with five hits from five different Purple Eagles.
• Kellner's double in the second was the lone extra base hit of the game for NU. The sophomore is now third on the team with six hits this season.
• Kelsey Harrigan and McInall have started the season with five game hit streaks.
