Low rain chances for last weekend of August - The Dallas Morning News

singkrata.blogspot.com

It’s the last weekend of August and the weather is looking pretty decent in North Texas. It won’t be as hot as recent days. Highs will mainly be in the low 90s with a heat index approaching 100.

Spotty afternoon and evening thunderstorms will be possible both Saturday and Sunday, but most areas will remain dry. Best chances will remain in the southern and eastern portions of the region. Severe weather is not expected, but heavy rain and lightning will be the main threats.

We’ll be keeping a close eye on the Gulf of Mexico in the coming days. Hurricane Ida is expected to threaten the northern Gulf Coast as a major hurricane by Sunday evening. The current forecast track has the storm staying east of Texas.

Next week looks mainly dry and very warm to hot with highs in the mid to occasional upper 90s.
