The Denver area will see mostly cloudy skies Sunday morning, gradually clearing with a high temperature near 83.
There’s a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
The cooler weather is short-lived with high temperatures in the low to mid-90s Monday through Wednesday.
A chance of rain is in the forecast from Wednesday night through Friday, and high temperatures will drop into the low 80s.
Elsewhere in the state, fire danger is elevated in the mountains and high valleys.
In other weather news, Hurricane Ida is hitting the coast of Louisiana this morning as a Category 4 storm with winds of around 150 mph.
