Head coaches:
- Boys: Nick Moran
- Girls: Kevin Olesen
Returning athletes:
- Boys: Senior Sam Nyberg; sophomore Wesley Ward; freshmen A.J. Olesen, Jack Riley, Carter Woodal
- Girls: Juniors Abbie Resberg, Jordyn Harvey, Maggie Sowada; sophomore Lilly Vanderpoel; eighth graders Nala Ward, Riley Harvey
New faces: Seventh grade runners Isabel Riley, Nadia Tessier and Molly Sheda are "looking strong," according to coach Nick Moran.
Next meet: April 20 at Moose Lake-Willow River
Team strengths: "On the boys side, we are going to be strong in the mid-distance and distance races and we should also be able to sport a strong 4x400 and 4x800 team," Moran said. "On the girls side, our sprints, jumps and throws will be the strengths."
Biggest challenge: "Numbers," Moran said. The Wrens have just 19 students out for track, including seven at the junior-high level.
Coach's assessment
"Even though we have a small number of boys, they are a competitive group," Moran said. "With them being all ninth and 10th graders, we are excited to see them grow and compete over the next few years. All of the boys are 400-meter-plus runners, with the exception of Tyler (Mills), who is a thrower. On the girls side, we have a pretty split group of upper- and lower-class. Our upper-class girls will be strong in the sprints, jumps and throws, while out younger girls will be strong in the longer races. Overall, we are excited that we get to have a season. All of our athletes are excited to be competing and looking to improve on their previous times and distances."
