Friday begins dry with more clouds, humidity and mild temperatures. Highs will be close to 90 degrees this afternoon. It looks to stay dry until late afternoon or evening thunderstorms return. The highest coverage of storms is expected to be across East Texas. If the ingredients hold together, some severe weather is possible with the primary threat being large hail up to baseball sized, along with damaging winds up to 70 mph. A tornado or two cannot be ruled out. Be sure to stay weather aware.

The main time frame for the severe weather threat in DFW will be 4 pm to 9 pm. The potential for storms will shift east through the evening.

The weekend will be dry, breezy and pleasant with highs in the 70s Saturday and 80s Sunday.

Looking ahead to next week, unsettled weather is expected with off and on rain chances and cooler temperatures.
