Most of Houston woke up Wednesday morning either with very little water pressure or absolutely no water.
Water utility companies in the area are struggling to operate as the state deals with an energy crisis that has more than 1.37 million Houstonians dealing with no electricity as of 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

For those that do have water, they should be boiling that water for two minutes after it reaches a full rolling boil.
Mayor Sylvester Turner posted the boil water notice on Twitter on Wednesday morning.
"A boil water notice is now in effect in our city until further notice,” Turner tweeted. “Please check with your local provider or MUD to see if you are impacted. For Houstonians who do not have power to boil water, you are advised to use bottled water for consumption.”
Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo says residents of the county should assume they’re under a boil water notice “unless you’ve heard different from your local authorities.”
Just as residents have been urged to do with their power, everyone is being asked to conserve water, if possible.
“Water pressure is very low,” Turner posted on Twitter. “Please do not run water to keep pipes from bursting. Turn off water if pipes have burst. Please contact us if you don’t know how to turn off water. Be conservative on water usage today. It is needed for hospitals and fires.”
The water situation isn’t expected to improve until more areas have power restored.
