Tennessee Vols players waste no time taking advantage of new NIL rules - atozsportsnashville.com

Starting on July 1, college athletes can make money off their name, image, and likeness.

This is a new era that will completely change college sports as we know it.

College athletes can now utilize the fame they gain from playing sports to earn significant sums of cash.

Various Tennessee Vols players didn’t waste any time when the new rules went into effect at midnight on July 1.

Vols redshirt senior wide receiver Grant Frerking, who is the CEO of a successful landscaping business with multiple branches, sent out an Instagram post just after midnight promoting a mortgage consultant in Atlanta.

Senior defensive lineman Latrell Bumphus quickly followed with a paid post of his own.

Redshirt senior wide receiver Velus Jones Jr had probably the most intriguing paid post early Thursday morning.

Jones promoted Frerking’s landscaping business with a sponsored post.

This is just the beginning. Social media timelines are going to be inundated with sponsored posts from athletes in the coming days/weeks.

College sports have officially changed forever.
