"We're excited that Almighty will be joining the Eagle family," said Parks. "He has the potential to be a contributor in both the sprints and hurdles. He will add depth to a group that has already seen much success."
Both the men's and women's teams have had solid showings in the sprints and hurdles across at the Mid-American Conference in recent years. During the 2020 indoor league meet, then-redshirt junior Devonte Findlay (Lauderhill, Fla.-Blanche Ely) and then-sophomore Alysse Wade (Mansfield, Ohio-St. Peter's) both took home the conference crown in the 60m hurdles with times of 7.69 and 8.43, respectively. Meanwhile, at the 2021 MAC Outdoor Championships, then-junior Payne Wylie (Elstow, Saskatchewan-Colonsay School) bested the league in the 110H with a personal-best time of 13.96, while then-junior Wade earned her second-ever MAC title in the 100H, winning in 13.87.
"During the recruiting process Almighty's versatility in the sprints and hurdles really stood out," said Associate Head Coach Chris Best. "He has great range with his ability to run the 110H as well the 100m and 200m."
