It took four months of a coronavirus pandemic-related delay, but the Kentucky Derby is finally here. The Run for the Roses -- and the huge weekend of thoroughbred racing that comes with it in Louisville -- is not going to be run like business as usual. The race, which has a post time of 7:01 pm ET, is now the second jewel of the Triple Crown, and, perhaps most notably, there will be no spectators in attendance.
But while the circumstances surrounding the competition will be deviating from the norm, the competitive aspect is still rather straightforward. Tiz The Law, the heavy favorite for this race, will need to take this race in order have a chance at winning the Triple Crown in October at the Preakness Stakes -- the horse won the Belmont Stakes earlier this year.
